intel E7500 compatibility problem

Hello. I bought a new CPU E7500 for my home PC and I'm having a problem that won't let me sleep. After installing the new CPU my Sapphire HD4870 won't send any signal to my monitor, unless I manually turn the PC off by pressing the power off button for a few seconds. Turning the PC on after this action would result in a normal booting. This way i could play for hours and the PC it's been on for 3 days now with no problems. So after any restart or shutdown from software, won't work. I used the HD4870 with my old CPU E4500 and there was no problem. I also tryed the new CPU with the old videocard and it didn't work so the new CPU is the problem for sure.

Thanks in advance.

Btw this is the configuration I'm using:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500

Mobo: Intel DP35DP

Video: Sapphire HD4870 1gb (standard one)

PSU: Gembird 650W

Memory: 4Gb (4x1Gb) DDR2 Pc2-6400 (400MHz) Kingmax

Monitor: BenQ 2420HD

Hi Nerevah

What BIOS version do you have? If you haven't upgrade BIOS is probably best to do so.

In order to upgrade BIOS is probably best to put the E4500 then once upgraded try the E7500

Find below a link with the latest BIOS update.

VICTORY!!!

I downgraded BIOS from the latest version to the minimum required version 0484 (using the old CPU) and now everything works as intended.

I have no idea what the reason is but i don't realy care ... it's working and I'm a happy-happy panda!

I can only guess that for old motherboards the latest version of BIOS is not always the best.

Cheers all!
