Hello martinhain,

At this time, the Intel® Data Migration Software does not support NVMe* drives. As an alternative, we can suggest the following third party tools:

Note: Any links provided for third party tools or sites are offered for your convenience and should not be viewed as an endorsement by Intel®. We do not offer support for any third party tool mentioned here.

This being said, we don't recommend migrating your operating system from a SATA to an NVMe* drive. We recommend performing a clean installation instead. Different UEFI drivers and BIOS settings must be used with NVMe* drives, and existing OS installs may not have these settings.

Best regards,

Carlos A.

Hello martinhain,

After responding to your post we decided to go ahead and run some tests to confirm the information we provided. This is what we found:

- Both http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm Todo Backup Free* and http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php Clonezilla* will detect and clone a SATA drive to the Intel® SSD 600p Series. Both can be recommended to migrate a storage drive.

- Only http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php Clonezilla* was able to successfully migrate our Windows* installation. http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm Todo Backup Free* was able to clone the drive, but Windows* would not boot from the 600p afterwards.

While there are many drive cloning tools in the market, these two were just the ones we tested. We have received reports of other paid migration tools that also succeeded transferring a Windows* installation from SATA to NVMe*. We do not offer support for any third party tool mentioned here. Our recommendation is to contact the individual software vendor for support regarding features, limitations, and recommended settings.

We do hope this information helps.

Best regards,

Carlos A.

Hello marinhain.

I did OS migration (Migrate my Windows 7 to Samsung SSD) with AOMEI Partition Assistant about a month ago, there is no issues. i really hate to reinstall Windows due to its complex operations, so it helped me a lot. You can try this tutorial: http://www.disk-partition.com/help/migrate-system-wizard.html How to Migrate OS to SSD or HDD with AOMEI Partition Assistant?

Best Regards.
