Компьютер определяет размер данного диска как 211 Gb. Это нормально?

Hi Aleksei812,

As per our translator tool, we understand you are concerned why the computer determinates that the size of the Intel® SSD 545s Series is 211GB instead of 256GB. We would like to let you know that the operating system calculates the storage in a different way, to a hard disk manufacturer, one KB is 1000 bytes, one MB is 1000 KB, and one GB is 1000 MB. Essentially, if a hard disk is advertised as 256GB, it contains 256 * 1000 * 1000 * 1000 = 256,000,000,000 bytes of space. The hard disk manufacturer thus advertises the disk as a 256 GB hard disk.Keep in mind that the hard drive manufacturers are using the accurate description of the terms–the prefix giga-, for instance, means a power of 1000, whereas the correct term for powers of 1024 is gibibyte, though it isn't often used. Unfortunately, Windows has always calculated hard drives as powers of 1024 while hard drive manufacturers use powers of 1000.So it means if you calculate the size in the way Windows* is able to see it, is like this: 256,000,000,000 / (1024*1024*1024) = 238.419 GB. The proper way to make sure you are able to see the correct space is this:-Open the file explorer.-Under this PC, Right click on your SSD under devices and drives.-Click properties. Under capacity, you will see the real SSD size and the actual size Windows* is able to detect. Regards, Junior M.
