Is my Intel Pentium G645 single core or dual core?

HI,

I have a pc with the following specs:

Intel Pentium G645 2.9 Ghz

4 gb Ram

Nvidia geforce 8600 GT

Motherboard: MSI H61M-P20 (G3)(MS-7788)

Windows 7 64 bit.

I called my computershop and told that I wanted to upgrade my videocard to play games like Battlefield 3(at normal settings not ultra settings). They told me that the processor would be too weak and they told me the processor is a single core. When I go into Command prompt and type in "WMIC CPU Get /Format:List" it says: NumberOfCores=2 and NumberOfLogicalProcessors=2. I used CPU-Z and it clearly says number of cores: 2. I also went to task manager, clicked on performance and I saw CPU usage as well as TWO yes 2 graps wich showed the usage. I always had the idea that I had a dual core and right now I am confused because the guy at the store where I bought the pc looked in his system and said that it is a single core but I always had the idea that it was a dual core because of the methods described earlier so how can I find out the amount of cores I truly have?

When I go to task manager and right click on a proces and click on "set affinity" I have three boxes:

- All processors

- Processor 0

- Processor 1

So how many cores do I have truly? single core or dual core?

Hi Robbar,

Let me help you with this.

The processor G645 is a dual core processor. You can check this information at the following link:
