Is it possible to combine SATA and RAID on S5520HC board

Hi,

I am setting up a server with a S5520HC board. I have 1x1,5 TB; 4x1 TB disks and a cd-drive attached to the six onboard SATA ports. I would like to configure the four 1 TB disks in a RAID 10 configuration and keep the last as a "normal SATA" drive. Is this possible? With the onboard RAID controller?

Regards,

Mades

All six SATA ports will work in same mode - all RAID or all native SATA.

In your case, you can configure SATA ports in RAID mode. Create a RAID 10 VD using four 1TB disks, and create a second RAID 0 VD using one 1.5TB disk. SATA CD-ROM drive will work in pass through mode.
