I've system restored my laptop and my USB ports do not work

I've formatted my Dell Laptop and my USB ports do not work.

I have downloaded and extracted all of the files from my Dell resource CD, including the one that contains the Intel Chipset.

However, when I go into the Device Manager it says I still need:

Intel 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host controller 27C8, 27C9, 27CA,27CB and

Intel 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Enhanced Host Controller 27CC

All of these devices have an exclamation mark next to them in the Device Manager.

I have tried running the Chipset driver from the resource CD and directly from the driver folder, and it appears to run OK, but it only takes a second to run and then it closes very quickly -so I don't think it's installing properly....

I would be very very grateful for any help, as I don't really know where to go from here 😞
