Hi,

I have a DELL E6510 laptop which includes a Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN adapter.

I have dowloaded the Intel ProSet/Wireless Wifi software, in version 13.4.2010.0 for Windows 7 64bit.

This version, as stated in release notes http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19518/eng/relnotes.htm http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19518/eng/relnotes.htm , shloud support this adapter.

But when I open the My Wifi Utility software, it tells me " No supported Intel wireless adapter was found"

The Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN adapter works fine, and the driver version is 13.4.0.9.

Any idea ? I would apreciate, thanks.

Best regards,

Christophe

I have tried to uninstall everything (Proset wireless... and the adapter itself), then restart, then reinstall.

Nothing changed

Then I read deeply the help and I see that a Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter should have been installed. But it's not the case ! there is no such adapter installed.

Could it be the reason ? How can I solve that ?

christophec,

Try the instructions located at...

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/p/19332852/19700096.aspx# 19700096 Installing My Wi-Fi Technology

The pictures in the thread and the linkl back to Intel's website should help you install My WiFi Technology.

Actually, I solved the issue by:

- launching manually a wireless connection with the following commands from CMD prompt :

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid= key=

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

- at this time I saw a "Microsoft vitual miniport ..." appearing. then I stopped the servce :

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

- then I went to the Intel Connection Utility tool which is in the taskbar, and click on "Reset PROSET".

- Connection Utility and My Wifi closed, reopened and then the My Wifi was showing the adapter.

so it works now.

Thanks !
