hd4000 and the dolphin emulator

I got an old laptop recently and decided to try out dolphin on it because it has a fast cpu, but there are visual glitches with opengl and dx11 and dx12 isn't supported.

opengl is very slow and coloured shapes (red and green) appear on the screen.

dx11 shows artifacts (dots), partially wireframe graphics

dx12 doesn't even work, says it's unsupported.

i've been told these are driver issues as i've already checked for overheating and there is no problems there.

any chances these issues could be investigated? also hd4600 has dx12 support, is dx12 supported coming to the hd4000?

i also have the latest drivers installed from the intel site 43xx series.

Hi Glubonack,

You are using a gaming emulator; it is expected to fail randomly. The tool is not fully compatible. Review Dolphin* home page.

https://dolphin-emu.org/ Dolphin Emulator - GameCube/Wii games on PC

Intel® HD 4000 supports up to DirectX 11.0. Please review the links below.

hi,

I've seen that page and know that it says hd4000 supports 11 and hd4600 11.1, but the hd4600 now supports 12 as dolphin works in direct3d 12 mode on my other laptop that has a 4810mq.

I can provide a screen shot if you need proof.

so i ask again, will d3d12 support be added in the hd4000 drivers at some point? and can someone investigate the visual glitches in d3d11?

on the hd4600 the visuals are perfect on dolphin in d3d11.

so it must be a driver issue.

Hi Glubonack,

I double checked the release notes of the newest HD graphics drivers for version 4000 and 4600. HD 4600 supports DirectX 12.0 with the latest driver and HD 4000 supports DirectX 11.0

HD 4000 was released with 3th gen processors and Windows® 10 support is going to be limited.

I am sending you the release notes of both graphics drivers. They contain a chart with the features supported by each driver. Some branded computers (OEM) use customized drivers and some features are disable or not supported. It is necessary to request a update to the manufacturer of the computer.
