I have just installed an i7-3770K on a DH77EB Mobo. My question is why do the eight cores show up in the device manager, but not in the SIW, or
Everest programs? My precessor sub score should be 7.9, but it is only 7.5.....any ideas?
Cheers

Hello Ken Squires,
If Device Manager shows all cores, it means the recognition problem might be related to the software itself. From the processor side, what you can do is make sure the processor is properly working and being properly recognized.
For this matter, please proceed running the Intel® Processor Identification Utility which will let you know if the processor is being properly recognized, this utility can be found at: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=7838 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=7838
You can also run the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool which will verify your processor's functionality: http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-031726.htm http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-031726.htm
We recommend you making sure the latest BIOS version of your board is installed in order to have loaded the latest micro code available for your processor.

Well i updated my Bios to 097, and ran the Processor Diagnostic Tool which came up with "Detected Brand String: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz."
When i go to my system Information it reads; Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @3.50GHz,3500Mhz,2 Cores, 4 Logical Processors.
Should this not read 4 Cores, and 8 Logical processors?
Cheers,
Ken

Advanced Options
Set the number of processors to 4
Unchecked number of processors box
Restarted, and i am showing 4 cores, and 8 processors in the processor diagnostic tool, SIW, and system information. Woo hoo!
