I get the following screen on a semi-regular basis using the current Ubuntu 2.17.0 xserver drivers and linux kernel 3.4.2. Not entirely sure what to do, the issue is persistent (about once per day) and happens typically when multitasking, particularly with heavy graphical content.
I need assistance narrowing down the problem.

Hi there!
The support for Linux at Intel is limited. Can you provide information about what happens if you load the latest graphics for Windows operating systems?

If you are still using Linux, you may need to check with Linux software community at:

Thanks

Hi Allan,
I will need to get back with you, this is most likely a motherboard issue from my testing. More to come.
Cheers,

Allan,
I've tried the following in every combination:
1. Fedora 17 (newest of all packages)
2. Linux Mint 13
3. Ubuntu 12.04
4. Brand-new motherboard
5. Brand-new i7 3770
The issue persists. Can you please link me up with an Intel employee associated to Linux open source driver development so I can attempt to rectify this issue? I'm unable to find any determination of the root cause.
Thanks.

Allan,
I've recently installed a discrete GPU and executed the same stress tests and can not reproduce the issue. Therefore, the issue here is likely to be due to either:
1) the intel linux drivers or
2) the hd4000 heat sensitivity issue
I'm inclined to say it's the 2nd. Needless to say, I shall attempt to return this CPU once again.
