Hi all,
There is a problem with Intel HD Graphics driver on windows 8.1 64-bit on DELL Latitude E6410. I have been following the internet to check for a solution and I have found people talking about the previous driver which is Intel GMA HD. so when I try to install it it gives me the error "error occured while registering one or more components" I have checked the posts here but no one has the problem with dell. I have tried to remove the Intel HD graphics. set device auto-update to off, downloaded Intel update utility, tried from safe mode. all with no luck, any ideas?
thanks alot in advance and happy new year!

Please note that GMA is a different graphics controller than Intel® HD Graphics.
The latest driver we have for your system is for Windows 7. Windows 8.1 is not under the supported Operating Systems. My best recommendation is to install a supported Operating System if possible and download the driver at this link:

E6410 with INTEL HD graphic card works fine on Win8.1 _ you need to :
a) download latest INTEL HD driver for Win8.1 = https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24227/Intel-HD-Graphics-driver-for-Windows-8-8-1-64-bit-?httpDown=https://downloadmirror.intel.com/24227/eng/gfx_win8_8.1_64_15.33.19.3540.zip gfx_win8_8.1_64_15.33.19.3540.zip
b) go to your device manager and DEACTIVATE current driver for Intel HD Graphics
c) add legacy hardware -> Graphic Card + specify folder where you've uncompressed previously downloaded driver
d) personnaly selected Intel HD Graphics 4000 one
you'll end up with 2x lines on device manager - one device being deactivated
graphics works all fine since.

I made an account just to say thank you for your post. Unreal that as of Feb 3, 2016 Microsoft is going to push harder for people to update to windows 10 when issues like this still exist. Well done!
