Hi guys,

I'd like to buy an itx motherboard with this cpu to make a small server. I only need it as a Nas/Active directory/Ip-cam recorder and this low power board seems to be perfect.

Even if I'm not planning to use it at the moment, I'd like to install Hyper-V to split the roles of the server in different virtual machine but this cpu seems to have problems with hyper-v and vmware running on Windows Server 2012 R2. Con you confirm the problem? How can be solved? And, if this can't be solved, which cpu should I buy?

Sorry for my poor english and thank you everybody.

Hi giovanesaggio,

The Intel® Pentium® Processor N3700 is a mobile processor. It is intended for tablets and low range notebooks. If you want to create virtual machines I recommend you an i3 or i5 desktop processor.

Virtual machines require processors with Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x) and Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d).

The link provides with all the current processors with VT-X and VT-D.
