Mouse Won't Move to Secondary Monitor

Intel HD Graphics installed in Lenovo T510.

Primary monitor is config'd to the onboard screen

Secondary monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster S24B240

Extended choice so that it all looks like the hoped for layout. However.....the mouse appears to be staying in the confines of the Primary which is defeating the purpose for this little action.

Went through the Intel Wizard in setting up. However, I did go through the usual Windows set up for multiple screens first. I have unconnected and rebooted to see if that would make any difference....still stuck in the laptop.

Thanks and a grateful appreciation for any direction or advice so I can take my CAD and bigger screen out of the office this weekend and following week.

Hello DAN53,

I understand you are using Extended Desktop with a Samsung SyncMaster S24B240 monitor, but you are not being able to use the mouse in the secondary display.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

In order to help you better I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. Please attach to this thread the .txt file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Please also attach the Intel® Graphics Driver Report. This link will show you how to generate it http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005848.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005848.html

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Regards,

All good information wasted on a moron like me.

My issue.....as dumb as it may seem.......was all pilot error on my part. In my desktop set up (D20 w/ twin Samsung Syncmasters), I had grown much too accustomed to the primary/secondary set up over a few years and failed to recognize the importance of how they're laid out....both on the desk as well as in sequence thru Intel....and while I kept slamming the mouse icon into the left margin of the primary screen....if I had ONLY taken a moment to go to the other side of the screen and slide it across to the secondary, if would have saved a few hours for me; and your invaluable time for offering up resolves.

Swapping primary/secondary screens was the whole answer to my concerns about why "when I've grown accustomed to the the left margin of my primary screen as the gate over to secondary" I couldn't use that margin to access the off-board monitor from my laptop.

I was in a rush to get configured prior to loading up to take the gear out of town for the week and let the clock drive me....rather than siddown and think it through...by the numbers.Like number 1 and number 2 in ident.

Again....it was a self inflicted screw up. I most humbly thank you for the time and input and apologize for my delay as I'm still in the field.

Thanks!!!
