Cannot install Intel graphics driver version 15.40.34.4624

Hi,

I tried to install Intel graphics driver version 15.40.34.4624 but I received this message: "Your system don't have the minimum configuration to install the software".

So I tried to completely remove the driver ans reinstall it again, still not working... Then I tried to reinstall the previous version I had before and was working perfectly, but I received the message again: "Your system don't have the minimum configuration to install the software"? What the ...?

I had to go on a alternative site to download and install an other driver, but I don't have the same quality I had before all this cause it's a VGA driver.

In fact at each time Intel release a new driver I have "blue screen error/computer restart" and I waste precious time to fix it to get back to work... Kind of tired of it! It last since 2 years now... Would appreciate a permanent solution!

Thank you!

My setup:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz Intel(R)

HD Graphics Family

First, you should never go to "a alternative site" to get your driver. You never know what that package may actually contain. You should only go to your computer manufacturer, or here.

You did not specify your operating system. You can find the latest drivers here:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/graphics-for-4th-generation-intel-processors/intel-hd-graphics-4600.html Support for Intel® HD Graphics 4600

You may need to manually install your graphics driver. If so, look here:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 and Windows...

And, your graphics driver may have been modified by your computer manufacturer. If so, go to your manufacturer's site and get the driver from them.

I'm using windows 7 I always installed my driver from Intel driver utility before I got this issue.

I went to alternative site cause I did'nt have any other option.

"And, your graphics driver may have been modified by your computer manufacturer", what do you mean exactly?

The Intel Driver Update Utility is intended for Intel boards, and does not always work correctly.

Manufacturers may modify the Intel graphics driver for their specific motherboard or laptop. If you use the generic Intel driver, some functionality may be lost.

I tried manually, still not working... This time I got the message "you're operating system is not compatible".

What do I do now?

Do you have an add-on graphics card on this motherboard?

I suggest you use the vga driver for Windows 7 that gigabyte has provided. http://uk.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H87-D3H-rev-1x# support-dl GA-H87-D3H (rev. 1.x) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE

No, don't have any other graphic card...

I'll try the one you suggest me, but pretty sure I already know what's gonna happen with it, it's gonna crash, like all the other drivers... Like I said before, my computer don't crash only when I put the last driver release by Intel, it last few weeks at most and then come a new release from Intel and there we you again, blue screen/crashing dump... It is always the same story.

And why can't I install the last driver? The one I wrote a post about? What the purpose to always release new stuff if it's to make stable working machine unstable and malfunctionning... I mean, it's pretty basic no?

When I got to select the compatible device, my graphic did'nt appear and I got this message (it's in english, but it saids that windows can't verified the compatibilty of the driver with my equipement and I'm installing it at my risk)... I tried it anyway, cause I'm becoming to get really impatient... There I got this other message at you right, saying that the driver don't take this version of windows... It's look like windows don't recognize it... Other option?

I have an operating system Windows 7 64bit.

The driver for the video adapter is version 10.18.14.45.78.

The driver version 15.40 gives an error during installation.

How do I install the last driver for Intel HD 4400 for Windows 7 64 bit operating system.

Screenshots and configuration of the system in the attachment.

If you try to install the driver manually, an error appears that the operating system is not supported.

Downloaded the driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ru/download/26682/-Intel-Windows-15-40-?product=81497 here.

Hello Philvesque and loveman89,

I understand you are trying to install graphics driver version 15.40.34.4624, but you are getting an error message during the installation.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

Graphics driver version 15.40.34.4624 can be installed on Intel HD Graphics 4400 and Intel HD Graphics 4600 on Windows 10* only. You can confirm that information in the Release Notes file that is on this link https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26682/eng/ReleaseNotes_154034.4624.pdf https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26682/eng/ReleaseNotes_154034.4624.pdf

Latest graphics driver we have available for Intel HD Graphics 4400 and Intel HD Graphics 4600 on Windows 7* is version 15.36.33.4578.

At the moment please keep installed 15.36.33.4578 if it works fine in your computers.

Let me know if you have or not any other inquiry.

Regards,

Fred

Ok, that's what I tought cause I usually always find a way to get it right.

The fact and the biggest inconvenient is that at each time Intel release a new graphic driver, I got blue screen/crashing windows issue until I get the latest plugin and the situation is not different with the 15.40.34.4624. So if I can't install the very latest, I'll continue have problem with it and you can imagine it is a big problem when you're working as video editor and you're computer randomly shut down just in your face.

I hope you'll find an alternative to that or a permanent solution cause I already found it very annoying to have to install a new driver every three months... So if now the solution is "no solution", you can guess I'm not gonna be a satisfied client, and I'll use an other option when I will renew my equipement... Yeah I know, probably not a big deal for you, but for me, is the only "power" I have as client.

So thank you for all the answers, still hope you'll be able to fix it.

cordially,

Philvesque

Hello Philvesque,

I am sorry to hear you are getting blue screens of death in your computer.

In order to help you better I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. Please attach to this thread the .txt file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Regards,

Then why for the 5th, newer generation graphics driver supports the operating system window 7, but for the 4th generation graphics driver only for the Windows operating system 10? Developers are too lazy? I came across the incompatibility of the 7th generation of graphics with Windows 7 and this is understandable. But why for the old 4th generation did not make a normal driver for Windows 7. Organizations are not in a hurry to switch to Windows 8, 8.1, 10 due to compatibility problems with production programs or some malfunctions in new operating systems. (Google Translate)

There is my information, i'm runnin' under windows 7 integral pack 1

Have to say that I just ran some troubleshooting with windows memory diagnostic tool and it look like I have got problem with one of my two memory sticks... So I will have to see if it was the cause of my blue screen of death... On the other hand, I had this blue screen of death problem since a while and I remember very well that I ran windows memory diagnostic tool before without getting any hardware problem in the results... So I still very skeptical about it, but it worth a shot, I'll keep you posted. Thank you! Loveman89, I agree with you, why do complicated when it could be soooo easy!

Hello loveman89,

The reason why latest graphics driver is not compatible with Windows 7* is because most of the fixes for 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors were intended for Windows 10*.
