Related to Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 : we experience very low sensivity connecting a live box pro (Orange, France). Any other router connects ok, but this one connects at 3 meters maximum. We use one antenna, so we suspect that the box and the device tries to work in 5Ghz with both antennas, despite the fact that we use only one. Is it possible, and what is the cure ?

Hello Eric_Ipm,

We understand that your computer is having connectivity issues to a specific wireless access point. Here are most relevant aspects we can provide based on the information available:

- If the issue is happening only with one access point, it is very possible that the problem is originated in this device. We strongly advise you to contact the manufacturer of the access point for assistance. Make sure that the firmware is up to date, review its configuration, etc.

- The Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is a 2x2 device and requires the 2 antennas in order to operate properly. Please make sure both antennas are firmly seated in the connectors.

- The 7260 supports connections in 802.11ac/n/b/g/a, and dual bands (2.4 and 5 GHz); however, the type of link is negotiated according to the capabilities advertised by the access point for a determined network. If the AP has any limitation, you may need to configure the Network (SSID) according to these limitations (band, channel width, etc.).

Regards,

Hello Eric_Ipm,

We will be glad to help as much as possible. Please let us know your inputs about the recommendations we provided in our last message: make sure the 2 antennas are plugged to the 7260, also, check with the Access Point manufacturer, review its firmware version and configuration.

Additionally, try using the configuration in the advisory: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005544.html Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity.

If the issue persists, provide the following information:

- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility Download Intel® System Support Utility, run the tool with the connection working fine, and use it to create a report with all sections, once the report is created, click on the "Next" button. In the following screen, save the report to a file. Then use the Advanced editor options to add the resulting file to your post as an attachment.

- Access Point Model and firmware version.

- Any additional issue description that you consider relevant.

We would like to add that you can also http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html Contact Intel Support to get direct assistance from a support specialist in your region.

Hello,

we are investigating différent solutions to the problem. A new problem appears concerning a very low BT sensitivity too. We would appreciate to be contacted by an expert who could help us clarifying the situation. It seems to us that the antenna and the module does not fit. (It works properly in Wifi b/g mode!).

Hello Eric_Ipm,

In this case, we advise you to contact the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support. If you work for a developer or system integrator, you might want to check with your peers or sales rep if you have a designated account engineer.

Keep in mind Intel® Wireless Adapters are compliant with international standards, and the 7260 requires 2 antennas for proper operation.

Regards,
