Hi i have a hp desktop computer, it is currently running a ECS livermore mainboard with a i 945g/gz processor, i want to upgrade the processor and was thinking about a intel 2010 i7 quad core, but i am not sure if it will fit on the mainboard, i at least want to upgrade to a dual core, any suggestions would be grateful.

You wont be able to use a Core i7 Processor as it is not compatible with your chipset.

To find the list of compatible processors, you will need to contact the motherboard manufacturer. You can find that information on their web site.
