In Device Manager, under Display Adapters, I can see my driver version as being 20.19.15.4549 (11/10/2016) where as the latest listed on the Intel site is 15.40.28.4501 (8/12/2016). Am I mistakenly comparing two different "driver version" labels or do manufacturer drivers have something to do with this? I am pretty confused. Thank you.

So only the last four digits matter. But how can the driver that I have be newer than the one Intel offers?

Build 4549 must have been installed by Windows update.
Check the "digital signer" in device manager.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. Yes, you can follow Stefan3D recommendation.
Additionally, I have found this link http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005654.html Understanding the Intel® Graphics Driver Version Number
If you need the latest graphics drivers for your Intel® HD graphics 5500, see https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/86210/Intel-HD-Graphics-5500 here
I hope it helps.
Allan.
