4k output transformed in Full HD output with Intel HD Graphics 5600

Hello,

First, sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue.

I have a "big" problem with the 4k output of my computer.

I use my pc with 3 sreens, first that of the PC(1920/1080), then a 1920/1080 24' screen with the hdmi output and third a 1920/1200 with the mini display port output.

Normally my pc can support 3 screens (2 1920/1080 and 1 4k). All works very nice until a new update from windows 10 ( version 1607)

Now my intel driver for intel HD graphics is no compatible with the new version of Windows ( It say it support Windows 10 until the November 2016 update) and the 4k output is now a Full Hd output.

The mini display port doesn't recognize the resolution for my 1920/1200 and Windows say that the maximum resolution is 1920/1080. Given that my screen is a 16/10 and not a 16/9, I have put the max resolution to 1680/1050 instead of 1920/1200.

I've contacted Windows but they don't found any solution if it's not a new version of this driver.

All my drivers are up to date and the screen works perfectly with another computer, more i just formatted my pc and reinstalled all my drivers, but no change...

Hello Pointemort:

In order to better assist you, we just need to confirm a few details.

What is the model of the motherboard?

What is the model of the processor?

If this is a laptop, what is the model of the laptop?

Once we get that information we can look and try different drivers to fix the issue.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto

Hello Pointemort:

You are welcome.

Thank you very much for letting us know that information.

Not sure if you already tried the following drivers since you mentioned all of them are up to date, they are the latest version for Intel® HD graphics controller 5600:

Beta 4539:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716

Or driver 4501:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716

Also we can try the drivers provided by MSI, look for VGA:

https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/PE60-2QE-5.html# down-driver&Win10 64

Additionally, since the problem happened after the Windows update, did you check with Microsoft if there is an option to do a roll back on the update and install the version that was working properly again?

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto

Msi advise to update the BIOS and the EC, but no change, again ...

I've contacted Microsoft who said it's impossible to do a roll back with Windows 10 and his automatically update.... 😕

Hello Pointemort:

Thank you very much for letting us know that information.

By any chance do you remember the driver version that was installed before the Windows update?

Do you have the option to re-install that driver?

There are some cases that when we try older driver versions some problems get fixed, please try the following:

Driver 4463:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26078/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26078/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716

Driver 4424:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25948/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25948/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=87716

Please let me know the results.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards

Hello Pointemort:

Thank you very much for letting us know that information.

I just wanted to let you know that at this point you basically tried all the troubleshooting steps that we recommend.

On the following link you will find all the graphics drivers available for the Intel® I7-5700HQ processor, since you do not remember which one was the driver that worked fine before, you can always try a few drivers from that list in order to try to fix the problem:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/87716/Intel-Core-i7-5700HQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3-50-GHz- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/87716/Intel-Core-i7-5700HQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3-50-GHz-

If the problem remains after that, first of all back up all the important information and then we can try to reset Windows, just enter on cortana "Recovery Options" the select under advanced start up "Restart Now" then look for "Troubleshoot" then "Reset this PC" and choose "Keep my files" and you will be able to reset the PC.

If the problem persists, then the next thing to do will be to contact MSI to get warranty assistance or to check if to re-install Windows from scratch is a good option in this case.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto
