Laptop to Printer w/o router

I purchased a Dell with an Intel WiFi 1000BGN. I want to set my son up in his college dorm without a router. I saw the Intel video on the ability to connect a digital camera and other devices to my laptop. Can I connect a wireless printer, such as a Brother HL2270DW, without a printer to my Dell computer without a router? (School won't allow routers in dorm)
