Red and Pink Tinted Screen With Graphics Drivers Update

I recently updated my graphics drivers, using the drivers scanner on this site, and when I restarted my computer, everything was normal for a few seconds, then the whole screen got a strong red tint. I could barely read anything. I tried re-calibrating my colors, but to no avail. I ended up running a system restore to a few days ago. I took a screenshot before the restore, but when I looked back at it after the restore, it was normal. I'm using an HP pavilion DV7 laptop on Windows 7. My graphics card is Intel Graphics Family 3000 HD. I have a DxDiag report already saved, though I have no idea which part you need.

Thanks in advance

Zach

Please copy paste the whole contents of the dxdiag report you have saved. In addition, could you please specify what driver version did you try to install and if you got any error messages during the update?

I tried to install the latest one (The one specified by the scanner on this site.) I got no error messages during the installation. When I tried to run the driver installer, it said the download was corrupted, so I deleted it and redownloaded it. It ran with no problems.

Try using the latest video driver provided by Hewlett Packard* which is customized for your system. record the results.

Then try updating the BIOS of your computer. Such updates are available at:

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html HP Drivers and Downloads for Printers, Scanners and More | HP ® Support

After that is done, test using a previous driver version, posted here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22375&lang=eng Driver version 15.28.12.64.2932

After checking the results on that driver, test using the driver posted here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22628&lang=eng Driver version 15.28.15.64.3062

Nevermind. Now when I put my computer to sleep, the screen doesn't turn on when it wakes up, however, the rest of the machine, (Fingerprint scanner, sound etc.) does.

Was the BIOS already updated?

Which driver version did you test with? (Driver version 15.28.12.64.2932 or Driver version 15.28.15.64.3062, or the one posted on Hewlett Packard's website). What is the result when testing each one of these three?

I just had to re-update the BIOS. I'll test the drivers again.

Now that I've updated the BIOS, the same thing (Red screen) happens with the drivers you linked me.

And what happens when you use the drivers provided by Hewlett Packard*?

What happens to the image if you test using an external video display connected to your computer?

I've got the drivers from Hewlett Packard installed, I think that may be what it interfering with the Intel drivers.

As for the external display, I don't have one readily available.

You can try removing all the video drivers installed. , this is done through the Control Panel, go to programs and features. Then locate any entry similar to Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator or video driver and remove it. After that, use the Have disk installation instructions on this site to install the latest generic driver we provided.
