Hi:

I just received in my Job a HP EliteBook Folio 9480m, and it was working fine, then it guys called me to apply Mc Afee encryption, then 1st time I closed my lap top and left to hibernate operative system (windows 7 professional) crashed, then was unable to boot-up, finally I lost all my information because they weren't able to disable encryption, since that date my laptop was reprocessed (they formatted Hard drive twice), and they blame the equipment.

Now my problem is that every single time that windows is resuming I have a blue screen and have to restart windows, therefore I can't closed my laptop without loose my work...

Yesterday I found this:

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c04794457 http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c04794457

In few words it says that I should disable rapid storage technology "...ensure that Intel's Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) is not being used, since IRST is not supported with McAfee Drive Encryption."

When my laptop is starting I see an screen related to this and it supposed that I can access with Ctrl-I but I've tried several times and haven't been able to access and disable,

Can someone tell me how to disable it, or If this really related with Intel rapid storage?

Thanks--

There are couple of ways to disable Intel® Rapid Storage.

1. Accessing the computer BIOS and enable/disable RAID but you will need to reinstall the operating system since this will represent a hardware change.

2. Uninstalling any Intel® Rapid Storage from windows Control panel, programs and features. You will delete the program and perhaps McAfee will work again. I would recommend contacting your system administrator to perform any change on your computer.

Allan.
