I saw in another answer where a Fred D. had answered on behalf of Intel Corporation, and the subject was CPU identification. Now, if one may actually get a similar response here, progress may actually be had. To rephrase: How can a consumer determine the specifics pertaining to their hardware, specifically their CPU, using only the number/letter code sequences found directly on the hardware itself? If no other information is available, how can one pinpoint the specifications of a given hardware item using these codes/alphanumeric series, and by what means are these codes/serial numbers converted into a comprehensive answer that denotes the type, series, model, operating frequencies, etc? I am not asking for trade-secrets or launch-codes, here, only for info which corresponds to coding on my hardware item. Maybe Fred D. or someone else from his group of colleagues will see this and send ME an answer that is posted on behalf of Intel Corporation, too!

Attilla_DeHunt: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® Processors communities. We will do our best in order to provide the information you are looking for.
In regard to your inquiry, in order to be able to verify the hardware specifications of a processor first we need to get the model of it. We can always get the model of the processor using the markings of it that you will find on the processor itself or in the original box. On the processor you will find the FPO/Batch that you can see once the thermal paste is removed and depending on the model you will also see the ATPO/Serial number on the unit itself as well.
Once you get those numbers, you can always visit the link below to get the mode of the processor:

And then you will find the specifications on the next link:

On the link below you will find additional details about the letters and their meanings on the Intel processors:

Not sure if the above information is what you are looking for, please provide the link for the thread you mentioned previously.
Any further questions, please let me know.
