I saw in another answer where a Fred D. had answered on behalf of Intel Corporation, and the subject was CPU identification. Now, if one may actually get a similar response here, progress may actually be had. To rephrase: How can a consumer determine the specifics pertaining to their hardware, specifically their CPU, using only the number/letter code sequences found directly on the hardware itself? If no other information is available, how can one pinpoint the specifications of a given hardware item using these codes/alphanumeric series, and by what means are these codes/serial numbers converted into a comprehensive answer that denotes the type, series, model, operating frequencies, etc? I am not asking for trade-secrets or launch-codes, here, only for info which corresponds to coding on my hardware item. Maybe Fred D. or someone else from his group of colleagues will see this and send ME an answer that is posted on behalf of Intel Corporation, too!

In regard to your inquiry, in order to be able to verify the hardware specifications of a processor first we need to get the model of it. We can always get the model of the processor using the markings of it that you will find on the processor itself or in the original box. On the processor you will find the FPO/Batch that you can see once the thermal paste is removed and depending on the model you will also see the ATPO/Serial number on the unit itself as well.

Now, THAT, my friend is an ANSWER!! Thank YOU, Alberto R.! You have nailed the exact info I sought. I am glad that I laid it out like I did, a little wordy, but the results!! I have had numerous contacts on multiple boards across assorted subjects, brands & platforms and NO-ONE has even come close to giving me what I actually was seeking, many times an intelligible answer was just not forthcoming......
