Hello,

I've just noticed that there is no more support for javascript in the current SDK.

Is this a definitive choice? Are there any alternatives?

Thanks.

Hi b0unc3,

Thank you for contacting us.

As you mentioned, Java support is no longer supported in the latest SDK release. You can see here http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/emerging-technologies/intel-realsense-technology/000023222.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/emerging-technologies/intel-realsense-technology/000023222.html that, as of now, there's no intention to reactivate Java support on future releases. As an alternative to Java, you can use C++ or C# . You can see several sample codes here https://software.intel.com/en-us/RealSense/Get-Started https://software.intel.com/en-us/RealSense/Get-Started .

Let us know if this was useful.

Hello Sergio,

I'm talking about JavaScript support, no Java.

I'm asking if there is any alternative way to use the camera in a web application.

Thanks.

Regards,

Daniele.

Hi Daniele,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify this.

As you mentioned, Web service and JavaScript web apps are not supported in R3. The workaround for this is to use the SDK 2016 R2, as can be seen in the Release notes for R3 here http://registrationcenter-download.intel.com/akdlm/irc_nas/9558/release_notes_RealSense_SDK_2016_R3.pdf http://registrationcenter-download.intel.com/akdlm/irc_nas/9558/release_notes_RealSense_SDK_2016_R3.pdf .

Let us know if this answers your questions.

Will there ever be any updates to the JavaScript support or is this it now?

Hi jb455,

Currently, we don't have any updates on whether or not JavaScript will be supported in the future.
