I just buy it and its running at 2,66 instead of 3,06
im using a evga x58 mother board and a 750w power supply with 6 ram x2 gig ocz and gtx 295
anyone know why?

It's likly to be due to SpeedStep, this lowers the CPU speed to save energy, when your computer is idle. It will ramp upto 3.06 or even higher when needed.

you can disable Speedstep or EIST in bios of your mobo, and then the powersaving mode is gone and should run your cpu on the normal speed (+ turbo 1x multiplier)
