Extending RAID 10 disk volume on ICH7R/DH?

Well, I've got a http://http//www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon3000/3010/PDSME_.cfm Supermicro PDSME+ motherboard, with Intel ICH7R/DH RAID on which I've configured RAID 10.

Recently I've put never disks on that RAID 10 & extended them in intel Matrix Storage Console, pic:

After that intel Matrix Storage Console says I've got almost 600GB of storage.

But actually in Windows I've got only 300GB, pic:

How to change that, when my Disk Management won't give me option Extend volume for WinOS C drive?

ANSWER:

So, got a small tool called https://www.easeus.com/download/epmf-download.html EaseUS Partition Master, which is FREE btw, & moved the 2nd (Recovery partition) to the end of the drive.

Then I could Extend my current Windows drive C to some 600GB.

Hello KLiKzg,

Thank you for joining the Rapid Storage Technology community.

Regarding this matter the right answer should be provided by Microsoft, their support should be able to let you know if it is possible to extend the C:. I am aware that the only way to accomplish this is to start from scratch and extend the partition as soon as you install the operating system, the unallocated space needs to be right next to the partition you want to extend. It might not be possible to extend C: drive due to there is a Recovery partition between the C: drive and the unallocated space.

Amy, I've already found the solution on web, tested it & posted for everyone to know how to do it.

& no, I'm not doing a reinstall of a new drive & volume, as I have so much data on this one - that's why I use RAID10. To expand it & preserve the data.

Thanks for the help, but there are some other questions that need to be answered - even from my side. Please help with those, that don't have answers!

/thread/116355 KLiKzg, thank you for your sharing your workaround.

In your first post your inquiry is regarding the extension of the drive, so please rephrase the other questions in case I am missing something there.

Thank you.
