Adaptive Contrast on i3-4130

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying an i3-4130 based HTPC.

I have an i5 desktop with integrated graphics HD-4000 which has an Adaptive Contrast option.

Does the i3-4130 with HD-4400 have this feature also?

Thanks.

Hello Yaronkle, thanks for contacting us through the Intel Communities.

Regarding the Adaptive Contrast option, would you please let me know where are you getting this feature from?

Would you please send me a picture or guide me to it?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Sylvia,

I have this feature on my i5 based PC.

You can read about it In the following article.

Search the article for:

"Adaptive contrast enhancement works as advertised, enabling HD 4000 to comfortably score the maximum possible points in that section of the HQV benchmark."

This is how it looks like in the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel:

The Adaptive Contrast option was part of the Graphics and Media Control Panel on previous driver versions, but it is not available on the newer versions.

We are investigating if this feature is going to be available, or if it is going to return on some point.

Thank you Sylvia,

According to Intel, Adaptive Contrast is part of Intel Clear Video HD and on the i3-4130.

Intel Clear Video HD:

  • Total color control, along with adaptive contrast and skin-tone enhancements that create vivid, rich colors on the display

The option is available in the Control Panel... Select Video icon. Then, at the top of the window hit the down arrow next to the word Video to see a list of options. Select Image Enhancement. Then select Advanced. Contrast Enhancement is half way down the page.
