Dell XPS 9360 buzzing sound from graphics card (?)

I have a new Dell XPS 9360, and there is a buzzing sound every time there graphics change on the screen.

I noticed from previous forum posts that this was present on the 9350 model, and was something to do with the drivers for intel graphics card - the Intel (R) HD Graphics 620. Previous post here

Is there an update for this driver?

The PC had done some updates, I noticed the change in noise after these. It is a faint buzzing, always present but gets louder when I scroll on the trackpad.

Hello tomh4530,

Thanks for the information you sent to me.

I would like you to try updating some of the computer drivers in a specific order.

Please install this driver first, and then restart the computer http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=FY41X http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=FY41X

Install this other driver, and then restart the computer one more time http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=H71HM http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=H71HM

Please also try installing different version of the graphics driver. You can download it from this link https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26563/eng/win64_154514.4590.zip https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26563/eng/win64_154514.4590.zip

As soon as the graphics driver has been downloaded on the keyboard press WinLogo key + r, then type in devmgmt.msc, double click on Display Adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Driver tab -> Uninstall -> Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device -> OK, restart the computer, and then reinstall the driver with the steps that are on this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY

Let me know if issue persists or not.

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred

I've followed these procedures, and the bussing is still there. Plus, the PC wants to re-update all the drivers to newer versions.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hello tomh4530,

I would like you to try running the following utility which will check if the issue is the processor itself or not https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool

Let me know if the test passes or not.

Hello tomh4530,

Thanks for letting me know the outcome of the test. It looks like the CPU and GPU are working fine.

The best option would be contacting Dell* so they can provide more advanced troubleshooting steps for this issue. Dell* should be able to let you know if this is or not hardware problem. this link will give you their contact information http://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/us/en/19/contactus/Dynamic http://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/us/en/19/contactus/Dynamic
