Stretch the display on a TV

Hi,

I'm using a small computer attached to my TV via HDMI. When I first adjusted the resolution using the Intel(R) graphics control panel (couple of months ago), I remember having the possibility of stretching the display so it won't be cropped by my TV. It was in the display general settings section, next to the preview image. Lately, my settings has been reset, and it seems that this stretch function is not there any more. It is kind of annoying as I have some margins cropped now. Maybe someone can assist me in re-finding the stretch button? Thanks!

Hello Amdu,

I understand you are connecting your computer to the TV, but picture is not fitting the TV screen.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue maybe causing to you.

In order to help you better I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. Please attach to this thread the .txt file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Let me also know the model number of the TV.

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Regards,

Fred

Hi,

I'm attaching the Info file.

I have a Sansui TV (Model: LCT32SD).

I'm sure it's not related to the TV. I remember having the ability to stretch the display using Intel Graphics control panel, but for some reason, this button disappeared.

Thanks,

Nadav

Hi,

When I've tried to reinstall Intel(R) HD Graphics, I got a message that the driver is up do date.

In the file that I downloaded from your previous message, the drivers were to versions 5300, 5500,5600, 6000, p5700 and Iris versions. I'm not sure what to choose from this list, as my current version is just Intel(R) HD Graphics (with no numbers after it).

Any advice?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

I successfully install the driver.

However, it didn't change the situation.

I still can't find a resolution that fits my screen, no matter if I choose "maintain aspect ratio", "Scale full screen" or "Center image".

The closest I get is with the 1280x768 resolution (which is a good resolution for a TV screen).

I just need to tweak a bit mainly the vertical size and it will fit nicely. I remember I used to have this option, but I really can't find it now (or maybe my memory is not that good anymore...).

Any advice?

Thanks!

Hi.

The picture in the troubleshooting is exactly what I want to do, but no matter the resolution I choose I can't see this last option of customized Aspect Ratio.

I'm attaching a Print Screen of my display.

I'm quite positive I had this option in the past, but now even after reinstalling the driver, I can't see it.

Thanks!

Hello Amdu,

I am sorry to hear issue persists after installing latest graphics driver.

I would like you to try reinstalling latest graphics driver Acer* has validated for your specific computer model. The graphics driver Acer* provides has been tested and validated to work fine in your specific computer model. You can download it from this link https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_Intel_10.18.14.4080_W81x64_A.zip?acerid=635611452873420940 https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_Intel_10.18.14.4080_W81x64_A.zip?acerid=635611452873420940

Please uninstall our graphics driver first. In order to uninstall our driver on the keyboard press WinLogo key + r, then type in devmgmt.msc, double click on Display Adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Driver tab -> Uninstall -> Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device -> OK, restart the computer, and then reinstall the driver I provided.

Let me know if issue persists or not with that graphics driver.

Hi,

Unfortunately, after uninstalling your driver and reinstalling the link that you've sent it is still the same.

I don't have the last option of "customize aspect ratio".

It is frustrating as I had this option in the past.

Any more ideas?

Thanks!

Did you ever try to change aspect ratio on your TV?

Didn't see your model at SANSUI, so i picked a random available manual:

http://www.sansuiproducts.com/images/manuals/ELTVOMV01.pdf http://www.sansuiproducts.com/images/manuals/ELTVOMV01.pdf

Check page 15, picture menu/advanced settings/aspect ratio
