I'm building a new desktop using an Intel i3-4370 processor (my first Intel in a while) and the pictorial instructions do not show thermal paste. Does this mean thermal paste is not required?

The i3-4370 pictorial instructions for processor installation do not include the application of thermal paste. This is my first experience with an Intel i cpu, so I am a bit confused about using thermal paste on it. Does the fan design obviate the need for paste?

CPUs, both Intel and AMD, require thermal paste. The instructions should have mentioned that. By the way, you only need a blob about one cm in diameter. Using too much is as bad as using too little.
