I have a Dell Inspirion 1545-7373 with what I believe to be a Intel GMA 4500M or 4500MHD Graphics set inside. It only has VGA out, with no HDMI port. My question is can I connect this to an HDMI tele via a VGA to HDMI cable? I've serached everywhere and still haven't found an answer. I need to know if the VGA port on this set supports a digital signal. Any help would be great. Thanks.
VGA does not natively support TV out features and it carries an analog signal. In this case, the video driver is not designed to support the conversion of a digital signal to an analog one, so this type of conversion is not supported.
