Intel IGD HD 500 qemu passthough to Win10 VM driver problem

I can passthrough the HD 500 fine and it works without the Intel HD driver. However upon installing the Intel driver, the vm will experience problem with the device (yellow exclamation mark on the device list window). There would be no graphics output and I need to use remote desktop to log in and uninstall the device for it to work again, though at this point there is no intel driver associated with the device.

I tried the same configuration on HD 530 (G4500 CPU) and it works perfectly. Something is broken with the new kaby lake drivers?

I am sorry to hear about this issue with the Intel® graphics drivers.

 

 

Please confirm if you were able to install driver version 4552.

nope, can't install. tried the previous version and the manufacturer's version too to no avail. my board is j3455-itx by Asrock.

It seems that your board model only allows the installation of customized drivers by ASRock.

 

Please test installing graphics drivers manually:

Additionally, try ASRock drivers: http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Drivers/Intel/VGA/VGA(v15.45.4.64.4494).zip 4494

I tested both the Intel (manual, zip and the exe) and the Asrock driver (manual and exe) still does not work.

I have been testing driver version 4552 on several Intel® HD graphics models, if this was a driver failure, it will happen on every computer I have tried so far.

 

It seems a registry problem with the operating system. You could try running system restore and try restoring Windows registry.

All those installations were done on fresh Windows 10 installs. It's specific for Intel HD 500 only. I have no problem with HD 520 and 530 on G4000s skylakes

I think I have same problem, and don't have any clue to solve it.

Can I contribute to solve this problem by offering other information?

I passthroughed the IGD to Windows 10 home VM. But the GPU driver does not work, issuing error "Core 43".

My board is ASUS J3455M-E.

There is a new driver version that was just released, try version https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26563/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45- 4590

I have tried the driver you mentioned above already, but the result was same.

To clarify what causes this problem, could you kindly give me the directory where the install log is generated?

The install log is one which CateFul gave us previously(No.6, 2016/12/19 12:01).

And more, do you know why the line below was ouput in the CateFul's log?

The install log is usually located at C:\Intel\Logs

 

I do not have information about the hardware ID 5A85

You could also check for customized graphics drivers from your motherboard maker or computer manufacturer.
