I am trying to update the graphics drivers on my laptop (Toshiba SATELLITE C850-1D2 model) but the Intel driver update utility does not recognize the drivers (error says "no drivers were detected for your product"). Dxdiag told me that my computer has Intel(R) HD Graphics drivers but i don't know which ones to update too. if anyone needs to see, the logs on the updater were:

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : Motherboard Name = , Motherboard Id = 0

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : GetSupportedDrivers for OS: 75941, Motherboard 0

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : GetSupportedDrivers for Motherboard 0

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : Calling IDUUDetection.IDUUDetection().getDriverData with 0 driverInfos

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : IDUU-Detection: HW signature count = 0

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : IDUU-Detection: Beginning detection at 20:27:57

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : IDUU-Detection: Finished detection at 20:27:57

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : IDUUDetection.IDUUDetection().getDriverData returned true

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : IDUU-Detection: isTabletProc method at 20:27:57 , namefamily is: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU B960 @ 2.20GHz

DriverUpdateUI.exe Information: 0 : IDUU-Detection: isTabletProc method returning False

Thanks

Judging from this link: http://ark.intel.com/products/59836/Intel-Pentium-Processor-B960-2M-Cache-2_20-GHz Intel® Pentium® Processor B960 (2M Cache, 2.20 GHz) Specifications

your processor is "Sandy Bridge" aka "2nd generation"

Hello Sam187,

The drivers provided by Stefan are indeed for your system! Please give them a try and report back

One thing I recommend doing is to use the manual installation method.

Here how to do so:

1. Access the device manager and look for display adapters

2. Right click and uninstall the driver, make sure to select "Delete the driver software for this device"

3. Download the driver

4. Open this link: for Windows 10/8: http://intel.ly/1PdmvLd http://intel.ly/1PdmvLd or Windows 7*: http://intel.ly/25JPVYX http://intel.ly/25JPVYX

5. Disconnect the system from the internet and proceed with steps in the guide above (step# 4)

Hope this can help with the issue.

Thanks,

Thanks very much for the help! Out of interest is there a particular driver you would recommend or is it too difficult to say without knowing about the computer etc.

Hello Sam187,

We regularly recommend using the latest drivers available in the download center.

15.28.24.64.4229 for Windows 7, 64-bit* & Windows 8, 64-bit*

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit?product=97498 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit?product=97498

Or the 32-bit version for Windows 7, 32-bit* / Windows 8, 32-bit* / Windows 8.1, 32-bit*:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24970/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32bit?product=97498 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24970/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32bit?product=97498

For more information about OS support, please visit: http://intel.ly/1TXCctA http://intel.ly/1TXCctA and look for "Sandy Bridge"
