i7 AVX frequency throttling?

I see in specifications for new platinum Xeon that they have 3 speeds: slow for AVX512, medium for AVX256 and full speed for plain vanilla code.

Also the Knights Landing slows down 200 MHz for AVX and the Xeon V3 slow down 400 or 500 MHz on AVX256.

I cannot find anything about desktop i7 frequency when crunching AVX. A few people have asked this question in the past but didn't get a straight answer.

Now I see a recent post about overheating during AVX, so I presume there is no pre-emptive slowdown for AVX in i7.

Hi RobinK,

After reviewing this case, I have noticed I am missing the processor model number. Do you happen to have the processor information?

Thank you for your time.
