facial landmarks reset/ force detection mode instead of tracking mode

Hi,

working with facial landmarks, I've encountered the following behavior -

obstructing the face with a hand, the facial landmarks get a certain angle that does not follow the actual face contour. This behavior is not optimal but totally understandable.

However, once the hand is no longer obstructing the face, the SDK tries to track the wrong face, until the entire field of view is obstructed.

The question is there any possibility I can force detection mode instead of tracking mode? May be some kind of landmarks reset?

Thank you,

Alex.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your interest in the Intel RealSense Technology.

I would like to investigate a little bit more regarding your query and as soon as I have useful information I let you know.

I'll appreciate your patience during the meantime.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your patience. After some investigation you can try enabling Face detection as show in this page: https://software.intel.com/sites/landingpage/realsense/camera-sdk/v2016r3/documentation/html/index.html?doc_face_face_location_data.html https://software.intel.com/sites/landingpage/realsense/camera-sdk/v2016r3/documentation/html/index.html?doc_face_face_location_data.html.

Moreover, we would like to let you know that our support of the Face module in the SDK is very limited because there are no more RealSense developers working on it.

Hi Yermi,

I am aware of RealSence SDK help, and currently using the

https://software.intel.com/sites/landingpage/realsense/camera-sdk/v2016r3/documentation/html/index.html?doc_face_face_landmark_data.html Intel® RealSense™ SDK 2016 R3 Documentation https://software.intel.com/sites/landingpage/realsense/camera-sdk/v2016r3/documentation/html/index.html?doc_face_face_landmark_data.html

example for detecting facial landmarks.

However, from the behavior of the landmarks I see that there are 2 operating modes for the landmark detection. New detection and tracking. I was wandering if there is a command (other from those in the help examples) that imposes detection.

I understand that facial landmarks are of no Intel priority, so if there is any general command that allows "soft reset", that does not involve doing equivalent commands to pressing stop and start for the camera, it would help me.

Thank you,

Alex.

Hi Alex,

At this moment I'm not aware of any other command that allows you to achieve what you are looking for. Maybe someone in the community can jump in and help.
