I have a lenovo T440 with windows 8.1, it crashes once or twice per day with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (igdkmd64.sys). I am guessing that this is the intel HD 4400 graphics drivers?
I have updated to the latest driver version 2014-05-17 (10.18.10.3621) newer than lenovos driver, but the machine still crashes.
This is using normal office applications, no gaming or any display heavy applications.
I do use 2 external monitors and the built-in screen, but it crashes with 2 screens and the built-in monitor disabled also.
DxDiag attached, I have disabled the auto updates of drivers, but I do not think this is why my machine crashes, any suggestions or fixes??
Added a eventlog showing how often it crashes.

Since you have a Lenovo system, it is required to install drivers from them; however, you may try forcing the installation of Intel generic drivers by performing manual procedure, see here for instructions:

I have tried the latest lenovo drivers, they crash. I searched Intel site to see if you had any newer drivers, but they also crashed.
I will try the beta tomorrow.
Do you want a mini dump? I can send a link in a email, but will not post in the forum.

I too have had the same problem with my T440s first Bluescreen in two weeks today after Beta driver update. Would you be interested in the minidump file?
Its caused by http://www.google.com/search?q=igdkmd64.sys igdkmd64.sys (igdkmd64+0x2058D2) and http://www.google.com/search?q=ntoskrnl.exe ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x1607AB)

So far so good here as well. Have gone 2 full days without a BSOD where normally I would be getting 2+ per day.

Now about 3 weeks, I have had three BSOD since I installed the beta driver, this is a huge improvement from 2 per day to once per week, but still could be better.
None of the crashes so far have happened when I was watching the screen/using the computer, so I'm not sure if it was the igdkmd64.systhat crashed, but I guess that it was. Sylvia, do you have any updates to the beta driver yet? any word on when a none beta will be released?

I am also having the same problem. I am using a T440 + Ultra Dock with 2 external monitors. Started with getting multiple blue screens a day with the igdkm64.sys error. Now, with the new beta driver I only get it once a day and it usually happens at the exact time every day. When I go to lunch I lock my computer then it eventually goes to sleep. Somewhere in that process the computer restarts. I am assuming its a blue screen but I have not seen it since I am always at lunch when it happens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

We have a T440s that is getting the BSOD every other day. We have not tried the beta driver yet. Please let us know if we can provide any information and when the updated driver will be available.

Kennet & TimothyTaylor - Use the beta driver that Sylvia_intel mentioned. Also install the SCCM Driver - http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS040129 http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS040129
I've been using both of those and haven't got a blue screen in a few days now.

I have exactly the same problem with a T440
Intel Graphics, same BSOD.
Crash analysis points to the same IGDKMD64.sys driver as the culprit.
I tried to download the 'beta' driver, but got a 404 error.
Could you please repost the link.
Thanks.

Hi Robert,
I am having the same problem. Any update on the upgrade to the driver? If the update is a bit far off, would it be possible to try out the beta/alpha version of the driver?
Thanks.
