Hello,

i need some help. Today i turned on my laptop and suddenly i have 1024x768 resolution, for an unkown reason.

First i thought i need to update my drives (GeForce GTX 680M and Intel (R) HD Graphics 4000). I did and restarted my laptop.

Nothing changed. Uninstalled and re-installed still have the problem. I can change only to 1024x768 and 800x600.

Specs:

Machine name: SERGEJ-MSI

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.140303-2144)

Language: German (Regional Setting: German)

System Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.

System Model: GT70

BIOS: MSI GT70 E1762IMS Ver:1.0U MSI-Notebook

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.3GHz

Memory: 8192MB RAM

Available OS Memory: 8088MB RAM

Page File: 4150MB used, 12024MB available

Windows Dir: C:\windows

DirectX Version: DirectX 11

DX Setup Parameters: Not found

User DPI Setting: Using System DPI

System DPI Setting: 120 DPI (125 percent)

DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled

DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode

I hope you can help me with my problem.

PS: I took a different flatscreen, still have the problem. I find something strange, that the flatscreen is named after "Digital Flatscreen 1024x768 60Hz" in device manger (both of the flatscreens).

Hi Mike_Avelar,

Let me help you with this.

Based on the information you have provided there are some troubleshooting steps I want you to try:

  1. Update the Intel® graphics driver to latest. Here you can get the latest driver:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3712&DwnldID=23884 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3712&DwnldID=23884

If you find problems during the installation of the driver you can try the steps mentioned here:

/docs/DOC-22542 https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-22542

  1. Update the driver for your video card using the drivers from the Computer Manufacture.
