I'm running an older model Acer with an Intel core and I was thinking about upgrading, however I really can't afford an entirely new laptop right now. What I wanted to know was about the Intel Compute Stick. Do they increase CPU speed, and if so, are there any compatible with my laptop?
Model: Acer Aspire E1-510P-2671
CPU: Intel Celeron quad core processor N2920

To check if your processor in your laptop can be upgraded, the answer is no. It is soldered to the motherboard.

Regarding the Intel Compute Stick, no they do not increase the CPU speed, and are a complete computer system, and are not compatible with your laptop. The Intel Compute Stick only requires a monitor or TV with an HDMI port to output its graphics/video to.

Hello Agamemnon,
Thank you for joining the Processors community.
Please check the input posted above, this provides concise answer to you inquiry. I would also add that regarding processors compatibility for your computer model you may want to contact Acer, this because they should be able to provide more helpful information if the upgrade is possible, and also provide the list of compatible processors.
For more information on the Intel® Compute Stick visit; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000017248.html User Guide for Intel® Compute Stick. This guide is for the model STK2m3W64CC.

Amy.
