Second SSD RAID1 on Intel RST 15.2.0.120 drops out of RAID

Hi guys,

We have 2 identical Servers, Asus TS300-E9/PS4 (P10S-E/4L motherboard).

They are all running Windows 10 PRO 64 bits.

TheTS300-E9/PS4 / P10S-E/4L configs are Xeon E3-1220v5 with 16GB RAM + 2 SSD 512GB AData and 2 x WD20EFRX.

They are all configured with SSD RAID1 + WD RAID 1 on board.

On all of the servers the 2nd SSD after a few weeks of the servers being online drops out of the RAID. We have Intel RST driver 15.2.0.120 installed. All Bios and chipset driver are up to date.

This only happens in the 2nd SSD. The RAID array on the HDD is normal and working.

We have unpluged the SSD and tested them and they are working fine.

Please advise what can be the reason for this?

Any ideas?

Hi, ruicoutinho, Thank you very much for joining the Rapid Storage Technology communities.

I was checking the information about the servers on ASUS's web site, and actually the version of RST validated for those server boards is different from the one that you are currently using. Based on that, maybe the RAID controller is not working as it should and that is why this problem is happening with the SSD.

We recommend in this case to un-install the current RTS version you are using from the control panel by choosing "program and features" and un-install it from there, and then to install the version recommended on the links below that is actually for RSTe, look for SATA on the options in the links to install it.

Hi,

Uninstalling RST driver 15.2.0.120 and installing TS300-E9/PS4:

won´t affect current data on the RAID1 SSD(OS) or RAID1 HDD (data)?

The change will be transparent or do we have to rebuid the RAIDs?

Rui Dias

Hi, ruicoutinho, The structure of the RAID is on the hard drives, so the change will be transparent, there will be no need to rebuild the RAIDs. Please un-install the RST in control panel from "programs and features" then restart the PC and then install the RSTe version needed.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Alberto
