After 10.18.14.4156 Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 update my NVIDIA GeForce GTX

670 no longer works properly. I have tried everything I can think of. I was

able to get it working temporarily by doing a full system restore but as

soon as the windows update ran and did the 10.18.14.4156 update on the

onboard graphics, the discrete card no longer functions properly. I was

also able to rollback the driver for the 4600 Intel so it would work

temporarily, but as soon as it does the update again, it stops working and

I have to use the onboard HDMI port. If I try to use the NVIDIA HDMI after

the update, I can get picture and a cursor, but no desktop icons (strangely

the start menu and the desktop background are there) and cannot do any

other tasks. Since it works when that update is not installed and I have a

fully clean windows 8.1 install, I know its not a virus or setting and I

have eliminated hardware as being the issue. I cannot get the driver to

rollback again without doing another full recovery and I can't use the GTX

670 HDMI or DVI port at all right now. It must be the NVIDIA and Intel

drivers interfering with each other. I don't know who to contact further as

my rig is out of warranty, but it seems like a support issue not a personal

issue to me and even though my device is out of warranty, something like

this should not be happening and it should be taken care of. Also, somehow

the driver updates itself and I cannot fully disable or uninstall the Intel

graphics drivers, I have tried and they come back on reboot. Please help me resolve this problem!

Hello Ride907,

It is important to say that OEM drivers include special features that will work specifically for your computer. This is why installing the driver from the Computer Manufacture is very important.

You can try installing our generic driver but it does not include the special features from the OEM design. The conflict between the two graphics controller is because the system was preconfigured by the Computer Manufacture to use the hybrid graphics system with special configuration on the drivers.

If our driver is not working fine for your system, my recommendation is to access the Computer Manufacture website and get the special driver for your computer.
