3. Results: Frame rates mostly between 30-40. Absolutely playable from my perspective. Disabling FXAA (like recommended on gameplay.intel.com) gives more performance, but I prefer the improved image quality with FXAA enabled.

Having 20-30 fps after many free tweaks such as updating drivers from intel and editing registry. Fps not high enough for such a competitive shooter game and 1024x768 an eyesore.

Finding gameplay.intel.com not providing enough information to boost one's gaming experience and performance. Hope Intel releases more driver updates that can improve performance since my manufacturer releases updates that doesn't improve performance.

Hi Ronald et al,

Apologies if I my question is a bit off topic, but I have run out of ideas where to ask(I actually have nvidia optimus).

My NB:

MSI GE62 7RE Apacahe Pro

Intel i7 kaby Lake

32GB ram dual channel

Windows 10 CU home x64

Nvidia GTX 1050 ti + Intel HD 630 - optimus

Native Full HD monitor @60Hz + LG 4k TV

Intel driver version 21.20.16.4664

For weeks now I am trying to force-disable resolution up-scaling for games in exclusive full-screen mode.

My HDMI output is compliant with version 1.4, so I get only 30Hz when set to 2160p.

I usually game in 720p or 1360*768.

Now if I give the game exclusive full-screen, somewhere on the way to the screen the game's frames get wrapped into a 4k signal, and I end up with max 30fps.

I know for sure that it is possible to have an output signal of 720p@60Hz.

At some point when I was swapping cables, and switching back and forth between native & external screen, suddenly my 4k TV showed 720p at the input. At this point my games became smooth like butter.

Also letting the TV take care of the up-scaling resulted in a very nice and smooth picture. You'd not notice that the signal is only 720p.

I turned off my gear and when I started my PC next time, again I could not get rid of the 4k signal toward the TV anymore.

Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the 'good' situation anymore since then.

I have tried:

- creating a custom resolution

- making the games appear dpi-aware/unaware via external manifest

- reinstalling windows + all drivers a couple of times

- reverting the TV to factory settings

- various cables

- dxgi hacks

- all kinds of combinations of scaling overrides in the exe's compatibility settings

Since I had this working at some point, there MUST be a way of bypassing any up-scaling on the PC and leave it to the external screen. Maybe some flag in the registry or something similar.

Please look into this, there are millions of gamers with similar setups out there who cannot use the full potential of their HW.

PS.: Please do not suggest things like 'disable v-sync', 'use borderless window', etc. These things help to some extent but are far from the gaming experience I had for only one night when everything ran in 720p@60Hz v-sync on - no stutter, no input lag, simply perfect.

I just realized that I am looking for a simple 'disable GPU scaling button. Since the control panel lacks such a toggle, please advise how to tweak the registry to disable GPU scaling.

Why are all the FPS games on gameplay.intel.com configured to run at 30 fps? I know this because I saw a YouTube video of a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 520 running Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 at 20-30fps with your configuration. You need 60fps (or at least 45fps in singleplayer) for these games to be playable because you have to be fast-paced in them. 30fps just looks like a slideshow when playing these kind of games. I understand that you focus on bringing the best graphics and detail optimizations possible for Intel HD Graphics, but 30fps is just unacceptable to everyone in some games.
