Can't update my Graphics driver

I have an Intel (R) HD Graphics 530 which needs to be updated with the update: Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows* [15.45]. That came out on 2/3/2017. I also used the driver update utility (2.6) to confirm that I was installing the correct update. But after installing it using the driver update utility, it says that the operating system isn't supported. I hope that someone is able to help me with this problem, and if you want a more detailed explanation, please message me.

Thank you in advance, Ronald

Ronald

Hello Ronald000610,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

What operating system do you have installed? It will be great if you could provide us with your system information.

You can download the Intel SSU (System Support Utility) to get your system information: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility:

Download Intel® System Support Utility
  1. Download the utility
  2. Run the exe and select 'Scan'
  3. Save and include as an attachment in the Intel Community Forum

Regards,

Ivan.

Dear Ivan,

Thank you for looking into the problem I'm having.

I wasn't sure if you wanted just the scan of the operating system or if you wanted a scan of everything.

Therefore I have made one of each.

I hope that you are able to find a use of this information regarding the problem.

Thank you in advance,

Ronald

Thank you for the information, in this case try to install the driver manually, but before installing the driver uninstall the one you already have installed.

Check http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html Uninstalling the Intel® Graphics Driver and Intel® Display HDMI/Audio Driver

The system information does not tell me if your operating system is 32bit or 64bit, so I imagine that you are using Windows®64bit.

You can download the latest driver here:

Please check how to http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 and Windows 8*/8.1*

I hope this can help.

Hello,

My apologies for not keeping you up to date on this problem of which you are helping me.

But the problem has not yet been resolved, it turns out that Lenovo just hasn't validated it. Which is really odd to me, because the game I need the update for says I have to update the driver, and the update is also meant for my Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 according to the Intel itself, even the driver update utility says the update is meant and ready for my device, yet it isn't validated.

As far as my knowledge of validation goes and what it means, I'll just have to wait until it is validated by Lenovo.

If you are still able to be of help for me, I would like to hear from you soon. If there is nothing left to do, I would like to thank you for your support up until now.

Yours sincerely,

Ronald van den Berg

Thank you for the information and I'm sorry that still you have not been able to install this driver, the option to override the Lenovo driver is to uninstall the old driver and to install the Intel® generic driver manually, you could try the steps I posted above and disconnect the internet to avoid Microsoft pushing any update and to see if you can install the generic driver but since you have a customized driver by Lenovo you might lose some features.

To avoid system instability I suggest you to wait for a driver update from Lenovo or through Windows®update.

Best wishes,

Ivan.
