INTEL WiFi Link 1000BGN upgrade to INTEL Centrino Advanced N-6230

I own a ASUS N53SV-SX420V and it has installed an INTEL WiFi Link 1000BGN. The computer is with Windows 7 64bit. I would like to upgrade to a new wireless adapter in order to have bluetooth and better speeds and wireless signal.

My question is, can I directly replace the 1000BGN for the /content/www/us/en/wireless-products/centrino-advanced-n-6230.html Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230? Is it plug n play? Is the type of socket connection the same? Will my computer be able to use this latest wireless adapter?

I see you would like to upgrade the existing wireless card for other model. Before you do that, there's some recommendations I would like to share.

Note that the Intel(R) Centrino Advanced N-6230 adapter is meant to be professionally installed by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technicians on certified systems only, and that's because you may need a specific hardware revision. Most OEMs would use hardware protection BIOS, that would block any unauthorized cards installed by the End-User.

Installing an aftermarket wireless adapter in your laptop can cause several issues which may affect usage of the wireless adapter or laptop. Some of these issues may include the following:

- The OEM may have installed the wireless adapter with a lock to prevent installation of another adapter.

- Your adapter may not be electrically compatible with your laptop that may cause the adapter and/or your laptop to no longer function.

- Wireless hardware installation and use is subject to regulatory approval, and the adapter purchased may not support your local regulations.

I suggest you to use a USB bluetooth dongle.
