Intel Xeon Gold missing VT-d support (iommu/ACS)?

Hi all,

The new Intel Xeon Gold CPUs (and the platinum) in their specification sheet, don't report support for VT-d, like the older Xeon families.

Do they really miss VT-d capability? I find it hard to believe that the newer and better CPUs miss such an important feature.

I would also like to ask if the Gold CPUs (6126,6132 ) support ACS, in order to be able to passthrough to VMs, networks adapters like intel XL710 (KVM env).

Thanx,

Spiros

I'd also like to know if the Skylake-SP CPUs support ACS.

/thread/118865 papage, thank you for your patience.

Please check the links below, VT-d support for the Intel® Xeon® Gold 6138 and 6126 Processors info was included in ark.intel.com:

https://ark.intel.com/products/120476/Intel-Xeon-Gold-6138-Processor-27_5M-Cache-2_00-GHz

https://ark.intel.com/products/120483/Intel-Xeon-Gold-6126-Processor-19_25M-Cache-2_60-GHz

Regarding your second inquiry, for this you will need to verify that with the server board manufacturer in order to know if it supports the Intel® Ethernet Controller 710. Also you will need to check with the VM's software provider, and the operating system developer.

Regards,

Amy C.
