Installation issues with PROSet/Wireless

I am attempting to install the PROSet/Wireless app on a system running Win8.1 Embedded. The Intel Update Driver Utility believes that the process fails but the individual installers believe that they were successful. Screen captures below. I cannot locate the PROSet application on the system so it would appear that the installation failed. Any idea on what may be causing the issue?

Is your computer a laptop or a desktop? If it is a laptop, our first recommendation would be to contact the manufacturer: http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support and check with them if they have any available updates. As a second option you can try using the generic software from our https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Download Center - Please check your firewall and antivirus configurations to make sure there is nothing that could cause impact on the installation.

Try the following steps:

1 - Download and save https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25224/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Windows-8-1- Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows* 8.1 version 18.12.1 - make sure to obey your OS architecture 32 or 64 bit

2 - Once you have installed, go to Control Panel, Programs and Features and Uninstall "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software", that as been previously installed. When prompted, choose the option to "Discard settings".

3 -Reboot the PC or scan for hardware changes, check device manager and if an older driver is detected and installed, repeat the actions to uninstall and delete it as well. Repeat this process until the OS does not allow deleting the driver, or until the controller shows as Unknown Device and then install the drivers you have downloaded again.

Hi Aleki,

My system is for an embedded application. I have a COM Express board mounted on a custom carrier.

I followed the steps provided and I am not seeing the PROSet/Wireless application. The drivers appear to have installed correctly but I cannot locate the application. The directory listing is below.

I was hoping to use the application to configure the wireless interface to function as an access point so that wireless devices could connect directly to our system. Would the app help with the configuration?
