I cannot get Bluetooth working on my Intel 7260-AC + Wifi

Whilie Wifi works fine, the device does not show up as a bluetooth device anywhere.

I have tried unistalling and reinstalling drivers as suggested in this post: /thread/96668?q=I%20cannot%20get%20bluetooth%20functioning https://communities.intel.com/thread/96668?q=I%20cannot%20get%20bluetooth%20functioning

I am using an Asus Z97-C motherboard, and a Silverstone ECWA1-LITE PCI adaptor which does not have a cable such as in this post: /thread/108624?q=I%20cannot%20get%20bluetooth%20working%20on%20my%20Intel%207260. https://communities.intel.com/thread/108624?q=I%20cannot%20get%20bluetooth%20working%20on%20my%20Intel%207260.

So I would quite like to know of anything I can try next.

I should also mention I have tried taking out and reinserting the card from the adaptor as well as switching PCI slots for the entire adaptor+card assembly.

Hello blubbered33,

We understand you're using a third party PCIe adapter to install a laptop http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-7260-bluetooth.html Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 into your desktop configuration. Regrettably, your current setup will not allow you to take advantage of the Bluetooth* module on your wireless adapter.

The troubleshooting you have been attempting was intended for the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-7260-bluetooth-desktop.html Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 + Bluetooth* for Desktop. Which at it's heart is very similar to what you're doing, but not close enough.

Bluetooth* modules communicate with your system through the USB controllers in your motherboard, and it seems that your third party PCIe* adapter does not allow for this option. Leaving you at a dead end when it comes to Bluetooth*.

The only retail Intel® Wireless adapters for desktop applications currently supported are the following:

- http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-7260-bluetooth-desktop.html Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 + Bluetooth* for Desktop.

- http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5660# ov Gigabyte* GC-WB867D-I (Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260)

- Plus other Intel® Wireless adapters integrated by motherboard manufacturers.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. But we do hope this information helps.

Best regards,

Carlos A.

Hello blubbered33,

Correct, all of our 7260 adapters have Bluetooth*. The issue here would lay in the PCIe* adapter that you're using, since it won't be able to communicate with the universal serial bus controller for the Bluetooth* module to be detected by your system.

If you have any additional issues, please let us know.

Best regards,
