Problems Updating a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Hey! I recently updated to Windows 8, then to 8.1. This is running on a Lenovo G550 Laptop from around 2010, so it is a bit outdated.

Today I wanted to update to the latest drivers, as mine are currently at 8.15.10.2702, and the latest version is 15.17.19.64.2869.

Now, not even the latest driver has support for Windows 8 at all, I'm assuming that's the reason I'm getting the error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software" because as far as I can tell my laptop does actually meet the minimum specs. I do recall being able to update my drivers just fine when my laptop was on Windows 7 Ultimate x64, but, my memory is a little hazy, I think I did a factory restore for my Windows 8 installation. Which would mean that I can't update to drivers I had possibly updated to in the past on Windows 7. Am I doomed to this current driver and/or version, or is there another driver I can update to?

Any help would be appreciated, if you need any more info I'd be glad to supply it.

Hi ZanaH,

The latest graphics driver we have for your controller is for Win 7 only. Win 8 or Win 8.1 are not supported by this controller.

I am sorry to say it but at this point Intel® has no plans to release new drivers for your controller.
