Set up DVI + VGA dual monitors with Intel HD 4600 graphics card

I would like to set up dual monitors (Eizo Flexcan S2100) with Intel HD 4600 graphics card using the VGA and DVI ports (using DVI-VGA converter + VGA cable for monitor 2). I have the latest drivers etc, but for some reason monitor 2 is not detected and only displays the identical screen as monitor 1. What am I missing?

Hello Dutch2582:

In order to better assist you we just need to verify a few details:

What is the model of the processor?

What is the model of the motherboard?

If this is a laptop, what is the model of the laptop?

Which Windows version are you using?

Please get into Intel® graphics properties, by doing a right click anywhere on the desktop, look for the option "multiple displays" choose it, and you will see different options, do you see extended desktop?

Any questions, please let me know.

Hi Alberto,

I have a desktop set-up with 2 identical Eizo Flexcan S2100 monitors (now showing identical images...)

Processor: Intel Core i5-4590 CPU 3.30Ghz

Baseboard model: ASUS Desktop PC BM6AD_BM1AD_BP1AD

Using Windows 7 Pro

I have looked at the Intel graphics properties, found multiple displays and see just 1 monitor listed. No extended desktop visible.

Regards,

Sjoerd

Hello Dutch2582:

Thank you very much for that information.

Just to make sure, is this your PC?

Which Windows version are you using?

Did you try a BIOS update on the PC?

Did you test it with different VGA cables?

Did you test the PC, just with the second monitor, using the VGA straight cable, for testing purposes to verify if it works?

Just to let you know, this situation might be expected, since the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in this case ASUS, could blocked the video BIOS for the graphics controller to support dual monitors only as clone and not as extended.

To check on that you can always get in contact with ASUS directly to get further details about this matter:

ASUS's phone number: 1-877-339-2787

ASUS's support site: https://www.asus.com/us/support/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello Dutch2582:

I just wanted to check if you saw the information we are requesting above, and if the problem with the dual monitors still persists or if it was resolved?

Any questions, please let me know.
