Intel graphics driver not updating.

Please help!

So I have been trying to do update my current driver version (10.18.14.4029) to the latest intel graphics driver (15.36+, etc). But by clicking the Setup (or Setup.exe) in the unzipped file, it says that "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install this driver" OR "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer."

Then, I tried the "Intel (R) Graphics Driver Software - InstallShield Wizard", it ran and was extracting files but later it said "this operating system is not supported".

Then i extracted the files into a folder and manually install through Device Manager > Display adapter > Intel (R) HD Graphics 4400 > update driver > browse for software > browse > (folder with driver files) and said that it was already install "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400", and the version is still 10.18.10.4029.

So I did the entire manually install but this time i when through "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" > Have disk > browse > (folder with driver files) > Graphics > igdlh64 (.inf?) > (clicked OK) > Next, it was installing, then my screen turned black for a while then said i needed to restart. I restarted and checked the driver version: it was still 10.18.14.4029.

My PC:

Windows 8.1 (HP Pavilion)

Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM) i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40GHz

Installed Memory (RAM) : 4.00GB

System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just want to play Star Wars: Battlefront.

Please help? Maybe i downloaded the wrong driver graphics version? Any recommendations?

Hello cheekitmeng,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

I really apologize that it took me some time to come around to this post and be able to help you.

The reason why you're having problem installing the latest Intel® generic driver is most likely because the driver for your Intel® component might have been changed or replaced by the computer manufacturer. We recommend you work with your manufacturer before trying to install our driver so you don't lose features or customizations.

However, you can try to install the driver again manually, first disconnect the internet before doing the installation and completely uninstall the driver already install and start a fresh installation of the driver.
