I7 4790k overheating

I'm having trouble with my processor, it gets high temps (65°c idle) and nothing is working. Already clean and change thermal paste, there's enough air flow inside the tower bit it still gets 65/70°c idle.

Already check Intel's guide but it's useless.

SPECS:

SSD 240GB

WIN 10

RAM 4GBX3 1600MHZ

ASUS STRIX GTX 1070

Hello bren94:

According to the specifications of the processor inside the case it can reach up to 74.04°C and that is expected, however being on idle and reaching 65°C is a little bit higher that it should.

Just to make sure if in fact that is the temperature that he it is reaching, please use the following tool, it does an overall test o the processor including a temperature test, and if it passed the test normally should be working fine:

Is the PC throttling or getting freeze?

Did it go off by itself?

Also, here is a guide of possible troubleshoot steps to try for this processor, in some cases the board under stock configurations overclocks the processor automatically and that could be the reason why is getting that temperature.

Here is the link:

Are you sure the fan is working fine?

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto
