Need for Speed INTEL driver version update

installed Need for Speed 2015 on pc and when I run it displays a driver error. The error says: Detected Intel driver version # 1 9.18.13..2702 08/29/2013 # 2 10.18.10.4358 12/21/2015. The recommended driver version is xx.xx.15.4251 or later. Please update your drivers at (intel website) before playing the game. I have downloaded the new drivers and installed them using the Intel Driver Utility 2.4. But then when the laptop restarts again after download and installation, the Intel Driver Utility says that I still have the old drivers installed in my pc.

My Laptop Specifications are:

Intel Core i7-6700HQ 2.60GHz 2.60GHz

Nvidia GeForce GT 960M

16GB DDR3 Memory

Windows 8.1

Judging from screenshot it's an application issue.

Build 4539 is obviously newer than build 4251

Since you have an NVIDIA Optimus rig you might want to use the dedicated GPU anyway.

Therefore open NVIDIA control panel, create an application profile for NFS and force NVIDIA as prefered GPU.

Hello akashiyamoka,

I have some recommendations for you.

1. Remove both drivers for the graphics adapters in your device (Intel/NVIDIA)

2. Reboot the system and Install the Intel HD Graphics 530 drivers first

3. Once done, Install drivers for the NVIDIA GPU

4. Please follow these steps to install the Intel driver (have disk method):

A. Access the device manager and look for display adapters

B. Right click and uninstall the driver, make sure to select "Delete the driver software for this device"

C. Download the driver

D. Open this link: for Windows 10/8: http://intel.ly/1PdmvLd http://intel.ly/1PdmvLd or Windows 7*: http://intel.ly/25JPVYX http://intel.ly/25JPVYX

E. Disconnect the system from the internet and proceed with steps in the guide above (step# 4)

5. Have you tested the behavior of the system with the drivers provided by the OEM?

Hello akashiyamoka,

This is a troubleshooting step that we recommend doing when you are having issues with drivers.

This troubleshooting is performed in order to attempt to fix the issue you are having with the game.

After doing this, you can try to run the game again.

akashiyamoka,

Have you followed Stefan3D's recommendation?

Having the game running from the dedicated GPU (NVIDIA) would certainly be a good troubleshooting to run the game.

Here, maybe this could help: http://autode.sk/1PTJYE0 http://autode.sk/1PTJYE0

Please let me know how it goes.

Hello akashiyamoka,

I am positive there is an option in "right click" to run the game from your NVIDIA card when you got this error message, did you open the game with that option?

The reason why I am asking this would be that it is better to run games with the external graphics card (NVIDIA) to get the best out of your system.

Additionally, it is good to double check you have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed in your system, here: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/114348/en-us http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/114348/en-us

where can i see this? i cant find it

  1. Select "Autodesk Composite" to change the graphics processor for all Autodesk software under "Select a program to customize". If "Autodesk Composite" is not available, select the specific Autodesk Program from the drop down list. NOTE: If you do not see "Autodesk Composite" or the specific program you want to launch, it may be necessary to uncheck 'Show only programs found on this computer' which will then populate the list with the desired options.

Hello akashiyamoka,

This is related to the step where you select the game or software that will run strictly from NVIDIA GPU.

Please notice that if you are not able to find "Autodesk Composite" it is required to look for the game from the dropdown noted as "Select a program to costumize:"

Then it is required to select the GPU to be used by the software or game, there you should select the NVIDIA GPU.

Here some screenshots related to this:

Section where you select the game or software to be handled by NVIDIA GPU

Notice I already selected the dedicated GPU (NVIDIA) to be used by the software.

Please let us know how it goes.

I also have the same issue with mine.

System: Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13
Specs: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.80 GHz 8.00gb RAM
Display adapter: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Windows version: 10 pro

When I launch the game (NFS payback) an error message will pop up saying: Detected Intel driver version 10.18.10.5161 08/06/2020 00:00:00. The recommended driver version is xx.xx.15.4251 or later. Please update your drivers at http;//downloadcenter.intel.com/ before playing the game.

Do you want to try and run the game anyways? There may be stability, performance or visual corruption issues.
Please how do I go about this?

You are responding to a thread that was closed in 2017. Regardless, you should be opening a new thread, specific to YOUR problem, using the Post a Question button in the appropriate forum's main page.

That said, since it is so basic, I will answer your question here: Games that generate this kind of warning message do so because they have a bug in their driver recognition code. You do indeed have a later driver, but the game is incapable of recognizing that this is the case. There is nothing that you can do to make this warning go away; simply ignore it and proceed with game play.

Hope this helps,

...S
